Shelleroni Salad

Quick Notes: You may be looking at the picture and wondering why it’s called Shelleroni Salad if there are no shells in it. I assure you that in a pre-quarantine world, this would have been made with small shells. Currently, Ditalini was the closest noodles I could find. It is a pasta salad that is intended to be served cold. Perfect BBQ side. This is my mother’s recipe, but I have absolutely no idea where it originated from.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb small shells (or whatever the fuck is on the shelf in the grocery store)
  • 2 cans peeled deveined shrimp
  • 1 jar of Cheez Whiz
  • 1 bag frozen peas
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, bring the water to a boil. Salt it well.  This recipe needs some good salt to really set it off.
  2. Cook the pasta per the packaging directions. Drain the pasta.
  3. Mix in the Cheez Whiz before the noodles cool completely.  This isn't necessary, but it helps it spread better.
  4. Toss in literally everything else and mix until incorporated.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least a couple hours before serving. Overnight is best.

Makes the perfect side to these Hotty Naughty Brättey Sliders.
