Quick Notes: You may be looking at the picture and wondering why it’s called Shelleroni Salad if there are no shells in it. I assure you that in a pre-quarantine world, this would have been made with small shells. Currently, Ditalini was the closest noodles I could find. It is a pasta salad that is intended to be served cold. Perfect BBQ side. This is my mother’s recipe, but I have absolutely no idea where it originated from.
Ingredients
- 1 lb small shells (or whatever the fuck is on the shelf in the grocery store)
- 2 cans peeled deveined shrimp
- 1 jar of Cheez Whiz
- 1 bag frozen peas
- 1/2 onion, diced
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pan, bring the water to a boil. Salt it well. This recipe needs some good salt to really set it off.
- Cook the pasta per the packaging directions. Drain the pasta.
- Mix in the Cheez Whiz before the noodles cool completely. This isn't necessary, but it helps it spread better.
- Toss in literally everything else and mix until incorporated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least a couple hours before serving. Overnight is best.
Makes the perfect side to these Hotty Naughty Brättey Sliders.
